GUEST FAQs

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our farm!

Below you'll find answers to common questions, along with a suggested packing list to help you prepare for your stay. If you have any retreat specific questions (such as your room allocation or meal details) please contact your retreat host directly.

  • About Wybalena
We are a purpose built retreat venue available for retreat leaders/hosts to book out our entire farm (similarly to a large air bnb) to run their own retreat programs. We do not book in guests directly or offer individual stays. Follow us on socials to see upcoming retreats you can join.
  • Getting to Wybalena
We’re located at 789 The Pocket Road, The Pocket NSW 2483. Look out for the “Wybalena” sign at the entrance. We’re about 35–40 minutes from both Gold Coast and Ballina Airports, and 10 minutes off the main highway. There are no public transport options, so we recommend a car transfer, hire car, taxi, or Uber. Google Maps is the most reliable – Apple Maps may suggest a longer route. Check with your host first to see if shared transport has been arranged for your group.
  • Parking Onsite
After entering the property, follow the sealed driveway for 200m and turn into the carpark marked “Retreat Parking.” From there, follow the signs to the Main House & Yoga Studio, just a short walk away, where your host will greet you. Additional parking is available at the cabins for guests staying in them. Please avoid driving or parking on the grass.
  • Check-In & Check-Out Times
Check-in: Gates open from 3:00pm for guests to arrive Check-out: All buildings must be vacated by 10:00am to allow the cleaning team to get started, 11:00am is the final departure time for everyone to exit the farm. Unfortunately, early arrivals and late check-outs cannot be accommodated. Your departure transportation must be arranged prior to arriving at the farm, or at the latest by the night prior to check out.
  • Wybalena Housekeeping
Please help us maintain a peaceful, clean, and sustainable retreat space: No smoking or pets (service animals welcome) Shoes-off policy inside all accommodations Keep screen doors closed to keep bugs out We have multiple signposted hiking trails on our farm, please don’t leave the trails, go through closed gates or touch the electric fences! Only flush toilet paper — wipes and sanitary items block our septic system Help us keep the ice bath clean by taking an outdoor shower before use
  • Accomodations
Room allocations and details are managed by your retreat host — please reach out to them with any questions. We have a variety of accomodations across different buildings, private or shared bedrooms, varying bed sizes S-D-Q-K, and private or shared bathroom facilities. Only the cabins include kitchenettes. All other rooms share the Main House kitchen, which includes a hot water urn and tea station.
  • WiFi & Reception
Mobile reception can be patchy in our area, but we’ve got strong Starlink WiFi throughout the property: Network: Wybalena Password: 789wybalena
  • Water
All taps on the property provide fresh, clean drinking water sourced from deep underground here on our organic farm. It’s naturally pure and regularly tested.
  • Catering & Coffee
As the venue Wybalena does not provide catering — all meals will be arranged by your retreat host or their chef. For questions about meal times or dietary needs, please check with your host. We don’t have a coffee machine on-site, however French presses are available. It’s best to ask your host what coffee options the retreat will include.
  • Laundry
Please see the 'What We Provide' section for linens & towels Guests are welcome to use the Main House washing machine and the clothesline on the back deck. For longer stays, the commercial laundry (located in the machinery shed) can be accessed on request. Spare towels are available if needed — just ask your host.
  • Children/Babies
Children and babies are welcome to stay at the farm, however we do not supply any equipment for little ones. Anything required such as cots, high chairs, change tables, or baby-proofing requirements would need to be brought by the hosts or guests. The Cabins are the recommended accomodation for families bringing children, as they have their own lounge room, kitchenette, deck and two bedrooms - versus the other accomodations are the 'room' only. Please note there are the usual safety hazards that come with being on a rural property; open water (pool, dam, creek), farm animals, electric fences, farm equipment etc. The safety of all guests is the responsibility of the host booking.
  • Pets
There is strictly no pets permitted on the property, with the exception of service animals. Please get in touch if you have a service animal joining a retreat, so we can discuss more details.
